Licenses & Credits

CoreShape is built on top of several open-source projects. We're grateful to their authors and maintainers — this page lists the required attributions and license terms for the software that powers CoreShape's modeling engine and 3D viewport.

Overview

CoreShape does not modify the source code of any of the projects listed below, and loads them at runtime rather than bundling a private copy. Each entry states the project's name, its role in CoreShape, its copyright holder, and its license, with a link to the full license text.

CAD Kernel — Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT)

CoreShape's solid-modeling engine — booleans, fillets, chamfers, shells, and all exact B-rep geometry — is built on Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT), an open-source 3D geometry kernel.

License: Open CASCADE Technology Public License (OCCT PL) — a license based on the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1, with an additional permission allowing OCCT to be linked into proprietary applications without requiring those applications' own source code to be disclosed, provided that any modifications made to OCCT itself are made available under the same license.

CoreShape does not modify OCCT's source. The compiled WebAssembly build is loaded directly from a public CDN at runtime (see below) rather than bundled into CoreShape's own codebase.

WebAssembly Bindings — opencascade.js

CoreShape runs OCCT in the browser via opencascade.js, a WebAssembly/Emscripten port of OCCT with JavaScript bindings.
