Terms of Use

Effective Date: August 26, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and CoreShape 3D CAD Solutions, trading as CoreShape ("we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the CoreShape website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully before creating an account.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or otherwise use the Service.

If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity, in which case "you" refers to that entity.

We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 21 (Changes to the Terms). Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a revised version, your only remedy is to stop using the Service and close your account.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create a CoreShape account. If you are between 16 years old and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement, supervision, and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

  • All information you provide during registration and afterward (including your name, email address, and billing details) is accurate, current, and complete;
  • You will promptly update your account information to keep it accurate, current, and complete; and
  • Your use of the Service does not violate any law or regulation applicable to you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information associated with your account, and we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from inaccurate or outdated account information.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account by providing a name, a valid email address, and a password, or by using another sign-in method we may offer. Each account may only be used by the individual (or, for organizational accounts, the authorized individuals) it was created for. You may not create an account using false information or on behalf of someone other than yourself without authorization.

3.2 Password Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password. You agree to use a strong, unique password, not to share your credentials with anyone else, and to notify us immediately at support@coreshape3d.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3.3 Responsibility for Account Activity

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you personally authorized that activity, except to the extent it results from our failure to safeguard the Service in accordance with these Terms. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

3.4 Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that:

  • You have violated these Terms, including the Acceptable Use provisions in Section 9;
  • Your account presents a security risk to the Service or to other users;
  • Payment for a paid subscription has failed and has not been resolved after reasonable notice;
  • Your use of the Service exposes us to legal liability or violates applicable law; or
  • We are required to do so by law, court order, or a request from a governmental authority.

Additional details on the consequences of termination appear in Section 19 (Termination).

4. Subscription, Billing, and Payments

4.1 Plans

CoreShape is offered under multiple plans, including a Free plan and paid Pro plans billed either Monthly or Annually ("Paid Plans"). Current features, limits, and pricing for each plan are described on our pricing page and may change from time to time as described in Section 21. Changes to pricing will not apply to an active billing period you have already paid for.

4.2 Free Trials and Automatic Conversion

A free trial becomes a paid subscription automatically. Unless you cancel before it ends, your trial converts to the plan you trialled at the end of the trial period and your payment method is charged the then-current price. You can cancel at any time during the trial, from your account settings, and you will not be charged.

We may offer a free trial of a Paid Plan — currently 7 days on Standard and Pro. Trials are limited to one per account, and we may withdraw or change trial availability at any time.

What happens at the end of the trial. On the last day of your trial, unless you have cancelled, your subscription begins automatically and we charge your payment method the price shown when you started the trial ($10 for Standard or $20 for Pro, per month). From that point the subscription renews on the schedule described in Section 4.3 until you cancel.

Cancelling during a trial. Cancelling stops the upcoming charge. You keep the trial's features for the remainder of the trial period rather than losing them immediately, and at the end your account returns to the Free plan. Your projects are not deleted, but any that exceed the Free plan's limits become view-only until you upgrade or bring your account back within those limits, as described in Section 12.

Reminder before we charge. Where required by applicable law — and as a matter of practice regardless — we will send a reminder to your registered email address before a trial converts, stating the date and the amount.

4.3 Automatic Renewal

Paid Plans automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually, as applicable) unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing to a Paid Plan, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method for each renewal at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel.

4.4 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (currently Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record for your purchase). We do not store your full payment card details on our own servers. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

4.5 Cancellation

You may cancel a Paid Plan at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to Pro features until that date, and you will not be charged again after cancellation. Except as described in Section 4.7, cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.

4.6 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we may retry the charge, and we will attempt to notify you by email. If payment is not successfully resolved within a reasonable period, we may downgrade your account to the Free plan or suspend access to Pro features until payment is made, subject to the file-access limitations described in Section 12.

4.7 Refund Policy

Except where required by applicable law, all fees are non-refundable, including partial subscription periods, unused storage, or unused features. Where a refund is legally required, or where we determine in our discretion that a refund is appropriate (for example, in the case of a billing error on our part), we will process the refund to your original payment method.

4.8 Taxes

Prices displayed for the Service do not include applicable sales, use, value-added, or other taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase, other than taxes based on our net income, and such taxes may be added to your invoice where required by law.

5. License to Use CoreShape

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own internal design, engineering, educational, personal, or commercial purposes, in accordance with the features made available under your subscription plan. Commercial use of the Service, and of models and designs you create with it, is permitted.

Permission to use the Service commercially is not a certification, endorsement, or warranty that the Service or any output of the Service is fit for professional or commercial engineering use. CoreShape is not responsible for, and disclaims all liability arising from, any defect, failure, loss, or damage connected to products, parts, or objects manufactured, sold, distributed, or otherwise used in commerce based on designs created with the Service. See Section 11 (Engineering and Manufacturing Disclaimer) for additional limitations that apply to all use of the Service, commercial or otherwise.

This license does not grant you any ownership interest in the Service. You do not acquire any right, title, or interest in the CoreShape software, source code, or underlying technology by using the Service. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by CoreShape.

You may not sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise make the Service available to any third party except as expressly permitted through features we provide (such as project sharing or collaboration tools).

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, and everything that makes it up other than your own User Content (defined in Section 7), is owned by CoreShape or our licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. This includes, without limitation:

  • The CoreShape software and its source code;
  • The CoreShape website;
  • The user interface, design elements, and workflows of the Service;
  • Our branding, logos, and trademarks;
  • Our documentation, help content, and other materials we publish; and
  • Any templates, sample models, or default content we provide within the Service.

Except for the limited license granted in Section 5, nothing in these Terms transfers any right, title, or interest in the foregoing to you. You may not use CoreShape's name, logos, or trademarks without our prior written permission.

7. User Content

"User Content" means any CAD files, models, drawings, sketches, assemblies, images, comments, or other content that you upload to, create in, or store on the Service.

7.1 You Own Your Content

As between you and CoreShape, you retain all right, title, and interest in and to your User Content, including any intellectual property rights in it. We do not claim ownership of anything you create or upload.

7.2 License You Grant to Us

To operate the Service, you grant CoreShape a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, host, process, reproduce, display, back up, and synchronize your User Content solely as necessary to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • Display your User Content to you and to any collaborators you authorize;
  • Create backups and enable file recovery and version history features;
  • Synchronize your User Content across your devices and sessions; and
  • Share your User Content with third parties, but only where and to the extent you direct us to do so (for example, by publishing a file publicly, generating a shareable link, or inviting a collaborator).

This license ends when you delete the applicable User Content or close your account, except for copies retained for a limited period in backups or as required by law, as described in Section 19.

8. Public Sharing

The Service may allow you to publish, publicly share, or make discoverable certain User Content. If you choose to do so:

  • You are solely responsible for the content you publish and for any consequences of publishing it;
  • You represent and warrant that you own, or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to share, the content you publish; and
  • You may not publish content that infringes any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, or that otherwise violates Section 9 (Acceptable Use).

We reserve the right, but do not assume any obligation, to review, remove, or restrict access to publicly shared content that we believe violates these Terms or applicable law.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to permit any third party to, do any of the following in connection with the Service:

  • Reverse engineer the Service, or decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, or algorithms of the software, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • Copy or clone the Service, or any substantial part of its functionality, user interface, or design, for the purpose of building a competing product;
  • Upload, transmit, or introduce any virus, malware, ransomware, worm, or other malicious code;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access ("hacking") to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems and networks;
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with subscription, licensing, or payment mechanisms, including sharing paid-plan access with unauthorized users;
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to abuse the Service, including creating accounts in bulk or artificially inflating usage;
  • Upload or store illegal content, or content that violates the rights of any third party, including content that constitutes copyright or trademark infringement;
  • Engage in harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive conduct toward other users, collaborators, or our staff;
  • Disrupt or overburden our servers or networks, including through denial-of-service attacks or excessive resource consumption; and
  • Engage in excessive or abusive use of any API we make available, including exceeding published rate limits or using the API to build a service that replicates or substitutes for CoreShape.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this section and to take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating accounts, removing content, and reporting conduct to law enforcement where warranted.

10. AI Features

CoreShape offers an optional in-app assistant, the AI Builder ("AI Features"), that turns a plain-language description of a part into modeling operations carried out directly in your design. This section explains what it does, how it connects to the AI models that power it, what is sent to make that happen, and what you are responsible for when you use it.

10.1 What the AI Builder Does

You describe what you want built, in your own words. The AI Builder returns a plan -- a sequence of the same modeling operations available from the toolbar (sketch, extrude, revolve, fillet, and so on) -- and the editor carries it out, adding each step to your design's parametric feature timeline exactly as if you had performed it yourself. Every AI-generated step lands in the timeline as an ordinary, editable feature: you can inspect, adjust, reorder, or delete it like anything else in your design. Using the AI Builder is entirely optional -- every feature of the editor is reachable manually without it, and CoreShape may substitute a non-AI, built-in planner automatically when a live model cannot be reached.

10.2 How We Connect to the Underlying AI Models

The AI Builder is powered by Anthropic's Claude models. Your browser never contacts Anthropic directly and never holds, sees, or transmits any Anthropic API credential -- every request is brokered through CoreShape's own backend server, using an API key that belongs to CoreShape, not to you. CoreShape decides which specific Claude model answers a given request (for example, offering a faster option alongside a more capable one) and may change which models power the Service, adjust usage limits, or replace Anthropic with a different provider at any time, without changing how this section applies.

10.3 What Is Sent to Generate a Plan

To produce a plan, CoreShape sends Anthropic: the request you typed; the information about your current design necessary to plan the next steps (such as which features, sketches, and bodies already exist and their key dimensions); the catalog of operations the editor supports; and, if you ask for a revision, a report of what happened when the previous plan ran (which steps succeeded or failed, and why). This is part of your User Content and is handled under our Privacy Policy and Section 7 (User Content) above. Anthropic processes this data as a service provider acting on CoreShape's behalf to return a plan, not as an independent recipient free to use it for its own purposes. As of the effective date of these Terms, Anthropic's standard commercial API terms do not permit data submitted through the API to be used to train Anthropic's models -- see Anthropic's privacy policy for their current terms, which CoreShape does not control.

10.4 Availability, Limits, and Your Responsibility

  • AI Builder usage is subject to a daily allowance that CoreShape sets and may change at any time; reaching it does not affect your ability to keep working in the rest of the editor.
  • The AI Builder may be slow, temporarily unavailable, or unavailable to your account.
  • AI Features are provided as an aid to your design process, not as a substitute for your own engineering judgment;
  • Suggestions, geometry, or other output produced by AI Features may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your intended purpose;
  • You are responsible for independently reviewing, verifying, and validating any AI-generated output before relying on it in any design, and
  • You, and not CoreShape, are solely responsible for all final engineering, design, and manufacturing decisions, regardless of whether AI Features contributed to them.

11. Engineering and Manufacturing Disclaimer

11.1 General Disclaimer

CoreShape is a design tool, not an engineering authority. We do not guarantee that any model created in CoreShape is manufacturable, structurally sound, or fit for any particular purpose. CoreShape does not certify the engineering safety of any design, and use of the Service is not a substitute for review by a licensed, qualified professional engineer.

You are solely responsible for independently validating any design — including its dimensions, tolerances, material properties, structural integrity, and compliance with applicable codes and standards — before manufacturing, building, deploying, or otherwise relying on it in the physical world.

CoreShape is not intended, and must not be used, for the design of safety-critical applications — including but not limited to load-bearing structures, medical devices, aerospace components, life-safety systems, or pressure vessels — without independent professional engineering review and, where applicable, formal certification. You assume full responsibility for any consequences arising from designs created, modified, or exported using the Service.

Commercial use of the Service and of the objects, parts, and designs you create with it is permitted (see Section 5), but that permission does not make CoreShape a certifying body or professional engineer of record. CoreShape is not responsible for problems, defects, failures, injuries, or losses arising from any object created, manufactured, sold, or used based on a design made with the Service, whether that use is commercial or non-commercial.

11.2 Simulation, Model Testing, and Printability Testing Tools

CoreShape may offer tools that estimate how a design will behave or print — including model testing and the CoreShape 3D Printability Test (together, "Testing Tools"). Testing Tools run automated checks and simplified estimates. They are not physical testing, not a certification, and not a substitute for real-world validation.

  • Testing Tools can and will produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading results, including reporting a design as sound or printable when it is not, and flagging a problem where none exists;
  • A "pass," "no issues found," or similar result is not a guarantee that a design is structurally sound, manufacturable, safe, or fit for any particular purpose, printer, material, or process;
  • Testing Tools cannot account for every printer, slicer, material, environmental condition, or manufacturing process, and real-world results may differ from what a Testing Tool reported;
  • You are solely responsible for independently verifying any design before manufacturing, printing, selling, or otherwise relying on it, regardless of what a Testing Tool reported; and
  • To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CoreShape is not responsible for any financial loss — including wasted material, machine time, labor, lost profits, product recalls, or any other direct or indirect loss — arising from reliance on a Testing Tool's output, whether or not that output was accurate.

This section supplements, and does not limit, Section 11.1 above or the limitations in Section 16 and Section 17.

12. Cloud Storage

The Service provides cloud storage for your User Content. The Free plan may save an unlimited number of projects, but only 10 may be editable at a time; Standard and Pro plans have no limit on the number of editable projects. Every plan has an 8MB size limit per individual project. On the Free plan, creating a new project when you already have 10 editable ones automatically turns the oldest of those view-only rather than deleting it — nothing you have made is ever taken away. Deleting a project, or upgrading, can make a view-only project editable again.

Cloud storage systems can experience outages, errors, or data loss due to factors including hardware failure, software defects, network issues, or third-party service disruptions. We do not promise that your User Content is backed up, and we do not guarantee that lost or corrupted files can be recovered. We also do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of stored files.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of any User Content that is important to you, including local copies exported in a common file format. We strongly recommend exporting and independently backing up critical files on a regular basis.

13. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and performing well, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times or free of interruption. The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, technical issues, or factors outside our control. We will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruption and, where practical, to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time, including features described in these Terms or our marketing materials, as part of our ongoing development of the Service.

13.1 The Service May Be Discontinued

CoreShape may be suspended, restricted, or shut down permanently at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. If that happens, your projects, designs, saved files, and account data may become unavailable or be permanently lost, and may not be recoverable.

This can happen for reasons within our control, such as a decision to stop operating the Service, and for reasons outside it, such as the failure or withdrawal of a hosting provider or other infrastructure the Service depends on. We are not obligated to provide advance notice, to maintain the Service for any minimum period, or to export, migrate, or return your User Content before or after the Service ends. Where it is reasonably practical to give notice or an opportunity to export your work, we will try to do so, but you must not rely on receiving either.

Do not rely on CoreShape as the only place your designs exist. Export anything you would not want to lose and keep your own copies, in a common file format, on storage you control — see Section 12. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any loss of designs, data, time, profits, or other loss arising from the Service being suspended, restricted, or discontinued.

13.2 System Requirements

CoreShape does the modelling work in your browser, on your own device, rather than on our servers. That is what lets it run without installing anything, but it also means the Service's speed and stability depend on the computer you run it on.

We recommend a device with 8GB of RAM or more. Below that, the Service may run slowly, fail to open larger models, or stop responding — and it may not work correctly at all.

You also need a current version of a major browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) with WebAssembly and WebGL available and enabled. Memory demand rises with the complexity of what you are working on: large feature histories, imported STEP files, 2D drawings, the Part Simulator, and the 3D Printability Test are all heavier than basic sketching, and a device near the minimum may handle simple parts well and struggle with those.

These are recommendations, not a guarantee. Meeting them does not guarantee any particular level of performance, and the Service is provided as described in Section 17. We may change the recommended requirements as the Service develops.

14. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers to operate, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, and other infrastructure and software vendors. We select these providers carefully, but we do not control their operations and are not responsible for outages, errors, security incidents, or other interruptions caused by third-party services outside our reasonable control. Your use of any third-party service integrated with CoreShape may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

15. Privacy

Our collection, use, and handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will CoreShape, its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to CoreShape for the Service during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.

For the avoidance of doubt, the exclusions and the liability cap above apply to any claim arising from a security incident or unauthorized access to your account, User Content, or personal information, as further described in Section 17 (Disclaimer of Warranties).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or liability, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that: the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; defects will be corrected; the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or that models, dimensions, and measurements produced or displayed by the Service will always be exact — dimensional inaccuracies in models may occur, and the website and Service may contain bugs or errors. You are responsible for independently verifying the accuracy of any dimension, measurement, or geometry critical to your use of a design.

Security and unauthorized access. No method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure. Although we maintain the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy, we do not warrant that the Service, your account, or your User Content cannot be compromised. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible or liable for any unauthorized access to, acquisition of, disclosure of, alteration of, or destruction of your account, User Content, or personal information, including where it results from hacking, malware, phishing, credential theft, interception in transit, misuse of your password, or the acts or omissions of any third party, including our hosting, email, and payment providers.

Your part in keeping the account secure. You are responsible for choosing a strong, unique password, keeping your credentials confidential, securing the devices and the email account you use to access the Service, and maintaining your own independent backups of any User Content you cannot afford to lose. Cloud storage in the Service is a convenience, not a backup service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the exclusions above may not apply to you. Nothing in this Section limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from our own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud, or our obligations under applicable data-protection law — including our obligation to notify you and the relevant authorities of a personal-data breach where the law requires it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

18. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CoreShape and its officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your User Content, including any claim that it infringes or misappropriates a third party's intellectual property or other rights; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.

19. Termination

19.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us at support@coreshape3d.com.

19.2 Termination or Suspension by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service as described in Section 3.4, or for any other reason at our discretion with reasonable notice where practical, including if we discontinue the Service in whole or in part.

19.3 Effect on Subscriptions

If your account is terminated, any active Paid Plan will be cancelled effective as of termination, and, except as required by law or as described in Section 4.7, you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your current billing period.

19.4 Effect on Stored Files

Upon termination of your account, your right to access the Service ends. We will retain your stored User Content for a grace period of 30 days following termination, during which you may contact us to request an export of your data. After this grace period, we may permanently delete your User Content from our active systems, subject to residual copies that may persist temporarily in backups, as required by law, or as necessary to resolve disputes and enforce these Terms.

We recommend exporting a local copy of any User Content you wish to keep as soon as you know your account will be closed, rather than relying on this grace period.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws that may apply in your jurisdiction, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

21. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, business, or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a revised Effective Date.

Posting the revised Terms here is the only notice we give. We do not undertake to email you, or to notify you within the Service, when these Terms change — so please check this page from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after a revised version takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may close your account as described in Section 19.
