What's new in CoreShape

CoreShape updates continuously, and there's nothing to download — the next time you open the app, you're already on the newest version. This page records the changes you'd actually notice.

Latest

Free trials, clearer plan boundaries, and a page to reach us on.

New
  • Free trials now run end to end. Standard and Pro both start with a 7-day free trial. It converts to a paid subscription when the week is up, and you can cancel at any point before then — cancelling keeps the features for the rest of the trial rather than cutting them off the moment you click.
  • A Contact page. Two addresses, one for support and one for legal and privacy, instead of guessing at an inbox.
Changed
  • The Part Simulator and the 3D printability check are Pro features. Both are now named on the Pro plan card so the boundary is visible before you subscribe rather than after.
  • The AI daily budget shows your local time. The meter used to report when the allowance resets as a UTC instant you had to convert yourself; it now reads as a wall-clock time, e.g. "resets at 7:00 PM".
  • Plainer language when the app can't reach the server. The old message asked whether a backend was running, which meant nothing unless you happened to be the person who wrote it.

A rebuilt home page.

Changed
  • The home page was redesigned. New hero, a clearer walkthrough of how modeling actually works, real use cases, and a straight comparison of what CoreShape costs against typical CAD pricing.
  • Simpler wording throughout. Several sections assumed you already knew CAD vocabulary. They no longer do.
Fixed
  • The home page could scroll sideways by a few pixels on some window widths.
  • A section label sometimes ran into the heading beneath it.
  • Low-contrast text in the hero has been darkened to meet accessibility contrast requirements.

Account security and the policies that govern your data.

New
  • A published Privacy Policy. What we collect, why, how long it's kept, who processes it, and how to get it deleted.
  • A password strength meter on sign-up, so you find out a password is weak while you're choosing it.
Changed
  • The Terms of Use now describe the AI Builder accurately — what gets sent when you use it, that Anthropic processes it on our behalf, and that your designs are not used to train models.
  • Repeated failed logins are throttled with an escalating delay, which makes password guessing impractical without locking out someone who simply mistyped.

1.0 — First release

Parametric, sketch-to-solid CAD in a browser tab.

New
  • Sketching. Lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and text on any face or plane, with snapping and constraints keeping dimensions exact as you draw.
  • Solids from sketches. Extrude, revolve, and cut, backed by real constructive solid geometry rather than a mesh approximation.
  • Refinement tools. Fillet, chamfer, and shell, selected by picking the edges and faces you want.
  • A parametric feature timeline. Every operation is recorded in order, so you can go back to any earlier step, change it, and have everything after it rebuild.
  • Construction planes for sketching at an offset, at an angle, or on a face that doesn't exist yet.
  • Export to STL, OBJ, 3MF and STEP, straight from the browser — ready for a slicer, a renderer, or another CAD package.
  • Accounts and cloud projects, so your work follows you between machines instead of living in one browser.
  • The CoreShape AI Builder, which turns a written description of a part into a modeling plan you can review and run.
